Epick Ranch: Montana Fly‑Fishing Excursion
Epick Ranch’s strategic location allows us to access numerous fabled and famous trout rivers. With over 30 years of guiding experience and a lifetime spent fishing in Southwest Montana, I’ve dialed in the best dry‑fly fishing this region has to offer.
We primarily target brown and rainbow trout, with opportunities to catch other local species as well. Beaverhead, Big Hole, Madison, and Jefferson Rivers are all nearby, we also can get to the smaller, lesser‑known rivers. These waters offer big fish, light pressure, and exceptional dry‑fly opportunities—often producing some of the most memorable days on the water.

Lodging & Location
Your stay is based on a beautiful 400‑acre ranch along the Jefferson River in Whitehall, Montana—perfectly situated between Bozeman and Butte. We’re just 1.5 hours from the Bozeman airport and 45 minutes from the Butte airport, making travel easy and convenient.
Our location puts you within reach of some of the most legendary trout waters in the West. From here, we can access a wide range of rivers, from iconic blue‑ribbon fisheries to hidden gems that see little pressure.
Boats & Equipment
We fish primarily from small two‑man rafts, which allow us to access tight, remote stretches of river that larger drift boats simply can’t reach. These lightweight boats also give us the flexibility to fish low water or drought conditions safely and effectively.
Target species include brown and rainbow trout.
Recommended gear: 5‑wt and 6‑wt rods and reels.
A power‑boat option is also available for lake fishing and dry‑fly opportunities.
